News and Knowledge
Welcome to Rygaards International School
Choosing a school is an important decision for any family. It is about academic standards, wellbeing and values – and about the direction you want for your child.
Rygaards School is a private international school located in Hellerup. We are one school with two departments – a Danish and an International. We have different languages and academic frameworks, but we share values, daily life and responsibility. The International Department follows the British Cambridge International Education system and curriculum, while the Danish Department builds on the Danish educational tradition. Together, we form one community.
School Profile
Rygaards School is a Catholic independent school founded by the Assumption Sisters in 1909. Since its beginning, the school has been open to all children regardless of faith or background.
Our values are rooted in a Christian view of humanity combined with universal principles such as respect, responsibility and equality. We work purposefully with both academic development and personal formation and aim to strengthen each student’s courage, curiosity and sense of identity.
In close cooperation with families, we provide teaching that offers solid academic foundations, contemporary learning methods and ethical awareness. Students should experience a safe and positive school life where community, care and engagement are natural elements of everyday life.
